File Management
Learn how to manage files across multiple cloud services using MigrateClouds.
Overview
MigrateClouds provides a unified interface for managing files across different cloud storage services. This allows you to browse, organize, and transfer files without switching between multiple applications.
Before you begin
File Explorer
The File Explorer is the central component for file management in MigrateClouds. It allows you to browse and interact with files across all your connected cloud services.
Accessing the File Explorer
To access the File Explorer:
- Log in to your MigrateClouds account
- Navigate to the Dashboard
- Click on "File Explorer" in the sidebar
Navigating Between Cloud Services
To switch between different cloud services:
- Use the cloud service dropdown at the top of the File Explorer
- Select the cloud service you want to browse
- The file list will update to show files from the selected service
Browsing Files and Folders
To navigate through your files and folders:
- Click on a folder to open it and view its contents
- Use the breadcrumb navigation at the top to track your location
- Click the "Up" button to navigate to the parent folder
- Use the search bar to find specific files or folders
Basic File Operations
MigrateClouds supports the following file operations across all connected cloud services:
Selecting Files
To select files or folders:
- Click the checkbox next to each file or folder you want to select
- Use Shift+Click to select a range of files
- Use the "Select All" option to select all items in the current folder
Copying and Moving Files
To copy or move files between folders or cloud services:
- Select the files or folders you want to copy or move
- Click the "Copy" or "Move" button in the toolbar
- Select the destination cloud service and folder
- Click "Copy Here" or "Move Here" to complete the operation
Creating Folders
To create a new folder:
- Navigate to the location where you want to create the folder
- Click the "New Folder" button in the toolbar
- Enter a name for the new folder
- Click "Create" to create the folder
Deleting Files and Folders
To delete files or folders:
- Select the files or folders you want to delete
- Click the "Delete" button in the toolbar
- Confirm the deletion in the confirmation dialog

Use keyboard shortcuts to speed up your file management tasks. Press "?" in the File Explorer to view available shortcuts.
Advanced File Management
File Filtering
To filter files by type, size, or date:
- Click the "Filter" button in the toolbar
- Select your filtering criteria (file type, size range, date modified)
- Click "Apply Filters" to show only matching files
Batch Operations
To perform operations on multiple files at once:
- Select all the files you want to include in the batch operation
- Choose the operation (copy, move, delete) from the toolbar
- Follow the prompts to complete the operation
Batch operations are processed in the background, allowing you to continue working while they complete.
File Versioning
For cloud services that support versioning (like Google Drive and OneDrive):
- Select a file
- Click the "Versions" button in the toolbar
- View and manage previous versions of the file
File Transfer Management
When transferring files between cloud services, MigrateClouds provides tools to manage and monitor the process:
Transfer Queue
To view and manage ongoing transfers:
- Click on "Transfers" in the sidebar
- View the status of all current and recent transfers
- Pause, resume, or cancel transfers as needed
Transfer History
To view completed transfers:
- Click on "Transfer History" in the sidebar
- Browse through your past transfers
- View detailed reports for each transfer
- Filter transfers by date, source, or destination
